Terms for Creators, Authors, Curators, and Publishers
Vidyame welcomes creators, authors, curators, publishers, teachers, storytellers, translators, commentators, musicians, practitioners, and community knowledge keepers who contribute to the preservation and sharing of Indic civilization knowledge.
These Creator Terms explain the responsibilities and rights of those who submit, publish, curate, or manage content on Vidyame.
These terms work together with Vidyame’s Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Copyright & Rights Protection Policy, Community Guidelines, and any applicable subscription or monetization terms.
1. Who These Terms Apply To
These Creator Terms apply to anyone who uses Vidyame to submit, upload, publish, organize, curate, teach, distribute, or manage content.
This may include:
- Authors
- Creators
- Translators
- Commentators
- Teachers
- Podcasters
- Video creators
- Audio creators
- Musicians and chanters
- Curators
- Publishers
- Community administrators
- Institutions
- Organizations
- Cultural educators
- Practice guides
2. Creator Responsibility
Creators are responsible for the content they submit or publish on Vidyame.
By submitting content, you confirm that:
- You created the content, or
- You own the rights to the content, or
- You have permission to use the content, or
- The content is public domain, or
- You otherwise have a lawful basis to publish it on Vidyame
You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate copyright, privacy, publicity, trademark, contractual, community, or other legal rights.
3. Accuracy, Sources, and Attribution
Vidyame is built around trust.
Creators should make reasonable efforts to provide accurate, well-sourced, and responsibly presented content.
Where appropriate, creators should include:
- Source text references
- Author names
- Translator names
- Commentary references
- Tradition or lineage context
- Regional context
- Publisher information
- Public-domain or licensing notes
- Explanation of whether content is original, translated, adapted, curated, or interpreted
Creators should not misrepresent authorship, credentials, institutional affiliation, lineage, or authority.
4. Traditional Knowledge and Cultural Responsibility
Indic civilization includes many traditions, lineages, regions, languages, schools of thought, practices, and interpretations.
Creators should handle traditional knowledge with respect and humility.
Creators should avoid:
- Presenting personal opinion as settled tradition
- Presenting one lineage as the only valid view unless clearly stated
- Distorting practices for sensational effect
- Removing important context from spiritual or cultural practices
- Making unsupported historical, ritual, or philosophical claims
- Exploiting sacred content for misleading promotion
Vidyame may ask creators to clarify sources, tradition, context, or intended audience.
5. Ownership of Creator Content
Creators retain ownership of their original content, unless they have separately assigned, sold, licensed, or transferred those rights.
Submitting content to Vidyame does not automatically transfer ownership to Vidyame.
However, by submitting or publishing content on Vidyame, creators grant Vidyame permission to host, display, distribute, organize, recommend, promote, format, and make the content available through the Vidyame platform, according to the selected publishing settings and applicable agreements.
Additional terms may apply to paid content, subscriber-only content, publisher content, licensed content, or institutional content.
6. Vidyame’s License to Use Creator Content
By submitting content, you grant Vidyame a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use the content as needed to operate and improve the platform.
This may include the right to:
- Host the content
- Display the content
- Format it for mobile, web, and other supported experiences
- Create previews, thumbnails, excerpts, descriptions, and metadata
- Include the content in search, recommendations, playlists, libraries, and learning paths
- Make the content available to users, followers, subscribers, or communities based on settings
- Review content for quality, safety, copyright, and policy compliance
- Preserve attribution and source information
- Use the content for platform operations, security, and support
This license continues as needed to operate the platform, support users who accessed the content, maintain backups, comply with law, resolve disputes, protect rights, and enforce policies.
7. Content Review and Approval
Vidyame may review creator content before or after publication.
Vidyame may approve, reject, restrict, label, request changes to, or remove content for reasons including:
- Copyright concerns
- Inaccurate or misleading claims
- Missing attribution
- Poor content quality
- Youth safety concerns
- Community guideline violations
- Sensitive topics requiring context
- Legal or platform risk
- Technical issues
- Violation of Vidyame policies
Vidyame’s review process is intended to protect users, creators, rightsholders, and the integrity of the platform.
8. Monetization and Subscriptions
Vidyame may introduce creator subscriptions, paid learning content, premium communities, donations, memberships, courses, or other monetization features.
Creators who participate in monetization may be subject to additional terms covering:
- Eligibility
- Pricing
- Revenue share
- Payout timing
- Taxes
- Refunds
- Subscriber access
- Cancellation rules
- Paid content obligations
- Platform fees
- Payment processor requirements
Until such monetization features are enabled, creators may be invited to contribute content to help build Vidyame’s content foundation.
9. Creator Conduct
Creators must follow Vidyame’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
Creators may not:
- Upload unauthorized content
- Mislead users
- Falsely claim expertise, credentials, lineage, or affiliation
- Harass users or other creators
- Manipulate engagement
- Abuse subscribers or community members
- Use Vidyame to spread spam, fraud, malware, or harmful content
- Circumvent subscription, copyright, or access controls
- Use Vidyame user data outside permitted platform purposes
Creators have a higher responsibility because users may rely on their content for learning.
10. Removal, Suspension, and Termination
Vidyame may remove creator content or restrict creator access if a creator violates these terms or other Vidyame policies.
Actions may include:
- Requesting corrections
- Removing content
- Restricting content visibility
- Pausing publishing ability
- Removing monetization eligibility
- Suspending creator tools
- Terminating creator status
- Suspending or terminating the account
Vidyame may also retain certain content, records, or attribution information where needed for legal, copyright, tax, accounting, safety, dispute resolution, or platform integrity reasons.

Vidyame’s mission depends on creators who preserve, explain, organize, and share Indic knowledge with care.
By contributing to Vidyame, creators help build a trusted civilizational learning platform for present and future generations.
